For over twenty years, STAR Education has been a leader in educational after-school programming for students throughout California. STAR is dedicated to providing innovative, high-quality programs for children that excite, inspire and educate. Student achievement is illustrated within the classroom through improved academic performance and substantial California State Test (CST) score increases at levels only STAR can boast. Students exhibit developmental gains, with increased self-confidence and social skills, heightened creative abilities and an enhanced approach to the world around them, which is both cerebral and unique.
STAR operates on the Loyola Village campus from dismissal until 6:00 p.m. In addition, STAR provides early morning care from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. For more information, please contact Director Tony Lafaurie at 310.678.5052.
“Beyond the Bell” Youth Services
Beyond the Bell's program of organized games, activities and home work assistance serves those students who are capable of independent supervision to, from and at the playground site. It is a permissive recreation program available to students in grades 2 – 5. Children may come and go as they choose and by their own volition; this is not a childcare program. Students will meet a Supervision Aide on the playground. The playground closes promptly at 6:00 p.m. Parents are asked to park on Rayford Avenue and use the pedestrian gate for campus access in order to pick up their children.
